A beautiful room is about more than what you can see. Scent brings another layer, changing the atmosphere without adding anything to the space. That is the appeal of Diptyque. Its candles feel considered, from the fragrance to the familiar oval label, and a single one can be enough.
For this edit, we have chosen four favourites with distinct characters. There is something fresh, something green, something warm and something floral. Rather than filling a room with several competing scents, we would choose one to suit the moment and let it become part of the setting.
01BAIES
Blackcurrant and rose give Baies its distinctive balance of fruit and flowers. We like the contrast: it has character without relying on a heavy, sweet impression. This is our choice for a living room, where the mood should feel welcoming and a little polished. It would sit beautifully beside a stack of books, with plenty of space around it.
02FIGUIER
Figuier draws on the fig tree and the warmth of the Mediterranean. Its appeal is that greener direction, suggesting a place rather than simply a perfume. We would choose it for a bright room, linen on the table and doors open to the garden. It brings a relaxed note to an otherwise carefully arranged interior.
03AMBRE
Ambre brings incense, patchouli and resin into a warmer, enveloping composition. It is our choice for evenings, when we want a room to feel intimate rather than bright. We like the depth it brings beside dark wood and soft upholstery. The amber-coloured vessel adds to that mood, making it a beautiful object even before the candle is lit.
04ROSES
Roses is the floral choice, centred on the scent of the flower itself. We would reach for it when we want a softer mood, perhaps on a dressing table or in a room with fresh flowers. It is romantic without needing an elaborate setting. A clean surface and a small vase are enough.
Our approach is simple: choose the atmosphere first. Baies for balance, Figuier for ease, Ambre for warmth and Roses for softness. The pleasure is in finding the one that belongs in your space.
