For Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2027, Anthony Vaccarello made gold the collection’s central language. Against the illuminated Eiffel Tower and towering chandeliers at the Trocadéro, the clothes and accessories formed a complete vision of evening glamour. The shoes carried that vision down to its smallest details.
Fine metallic chains spread across the foot, meeting oversized jewels at the front of the sandals. The exposed skin keeps the design light, while the ornament gives it presence. These are shoes that function almost as jewellery, framing the ankle and toes rather than concealing them.
The serpent-shaped heels make the strongest sculptural statement. Their sinuous curves turn a usually functional element into the feature itself. Snakeskin finishes extend the reptilian motif, while pointed slingbacks with prominent gold toe caps offer a sharper expression of the same opulence.
The collection matters for the way it treats glamour as a complete composition. Its footwear is integral to the silhouette, carrying the colour, texture and drama of the clothes through to the final line. Even outside the runway styling, a jewelled sandal or sculptural heel has enough visual identity to become the centre of an outfit. That is what makes these shoes a statement.
